After a stellar launch period, Battlefield 6 is rapidly approaching the start of Season 1, and its gameplay trailer is bringing the heat to California with all-out warfare.
We’ve known for a while BF6 Season 1 starts on October 28 and is fragmented into three phases, all the way into December, but we hadn’t seen any of the new maps in movement yet. EA and Battlefield Studios aren’t turning the noise down with the first trailer though:
As expected, the first look at Season 1’s maps, Blackwell Fields and Eastwood, doubles down on the large-scale action the Battlefield series is known for. Helicopters and jets are present, and the maps themselves seem like a balanced mix of wide areas, tight lanes, and layered building interiors.
The best part is this first batch of post-launch content is arriving before the community even begins to get tired of the base-game maps, weapons, and gadgets. Personally, we also believe this trailer feels a lot like Call of Duty’s own seasonal preview videos, which makes sense as EA has a real shot of hurting Black Ops 7’s impact.
It must be noted only the ‘Rogue Ops’ portion of S1 launches on October 28, which means Eastwood, the Sabotage game mode, battle pickups, and some weapons and attachments won’t arrive until November 18. Here’s the quick rundown of what to expect next week (we’re still waiting for the full patch notes):
- Blackwell Fields large-scale map
- Strikepoint 4v4 mode
- APC Traverser Mark 2 land vehicle
- SOR-300C carbine rifle
- Mini Fix sniper rifle
- GGH-22 sidearm
- Rail Cover and LPVO attachments
