Hunnic Magic has revealed Battles of Chaos, a blend of RTS and tactics set in a medieval fantasy world, which is in development for PC and will be released on Steam early access later this year.
Battles of Chaos will feature open-field battles or sieges in single-player, with cooperative and PvP modes available as part of a demo that is due to be released before the early access build launches.
Players will be able to lead the armies of Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, or one of the more minor factions, who can be played in custom battles. The Elves and Lizardmen are the two factions playable outside of the main three for the campaign.

Battles of Chaos will release a demo soon, and then enter Early Access
Command hundreds of soldiers in squad-based battles involving more than a thousand different fighters from asymmetrically structured factions. Lead the armies of Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, or one of the smaller factions in various game modes.
Take part in an epic conflict among the three main factions and play through the single-player campaign from the perspective of each participant!
In some battles, you will need to act quickly and charge the enemy in open terrain, while in other situations, you will need to build defensive walls and towers to protect your troops and citizens until reinforcements arrive.
The multiplayer mode supports two-player cooperative and PvP battles with additional AI-controlled opponents.
Main factions:
Play the campaign or custom battles with one of the three main factions, each with a different fighting style and using different technologies:
- Choose Humans if you want to rule a feudal kingdom with balanced military and architectural skills.
- Join the Orcs to unleash deadly hordes of ugly goblins, fearsome orcs, or mighty ogre berserkers hardened by shamans.
- Lead the Dwarves to raise robust strongholds and line up heavy field armies utilizing the best technologies available.
Minor factions:
They participate in the story and can also be played in custom battles:
- The Elves, a mysterious civilization ruling the sea, combine magic with ancient knowledge. They may seem weak, but their small armies represent a real superpower.
- Lizardmen, unbeatable in their forests and swamps. They are alien beasts to humanoids and are true outsiders. But they cannot resist fire.
Non-playable factions:
You will also encounter additional enemies during the campaign:
- Giants are a rare humanoid race stuck in the Stone Age. But they are huge, strong, and easily angered.
- Dragons are dragons. In short, it is best not to mess with them. Their only vulnerability is magic.
Game modes:
You can play in a couple of game modes according to your play style:
- Custom battles: play single or multiplayer (two players co-op or pvp) battles on the selected battle or siege map, choose a faction, customize your army.
- Fixed battles: play single or multiplayer (two players co-op or pvp) battles or sieges with preset armies.
- Defense: build your base fortifications, and defend against increasing waves of enemy attacks.
- Campaign: play through a series of battles in single player mode with one of the main factions.
- Conquest: a two player conflict on a small, turn based map (one attacker and one defender), where battles take place in real-time based on the environment of the current location on the map, in single or multiplayer mode (two players coop or pvp).
- Random map: custom and conquest mode battles with randomly generated terrain and environment ensuring infinite replayability.
- Hero mode: a hero with constantly developing experience can strengthen the army based on his/her skills, and must survive.
You can follow Battles of Chaos on Steam.
