Publisher Capcom’s pursuit of continued growth could see it bringing back some of its dormant IPs like Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney, as revealed in the company’s 2025 integrated report.
The publisher’s main focus continues to revolve around core IP like Resident Evil, which is about to get a new mainline entry in early 2026, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter, but President and Chief Operating Officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto admits that although Capcom “consistently release[s] two to three major new titles each year, [the publisher] recognize[s] the need to grow our pipeline going forward.”
Capcom Eyes New Releases in the Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney Series
As spotted by Rockman Corner, Tsujimoto continues by noting that “Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware. By enhancing brand power and cultivating loyal fan bases, we will grow these into core IPs.”
Although we don’t have any concrete promises or reveals of new titles in these series, their inclusion in Capcom’s broader strategy could bode well for fans who have been patiently waiting for quite a while now.
Devil May Cry and Mega Man have remained dormant since the end of the past decade, while the Ace Attorney series has seen more movement, but largely through compilations and remasters that have also made their way to PC.
A new Devil May Cry anime series debuted on Netflix earlier this year, drawing more attention to the IP, so, hopefully, it won’t be too long before we get to accompany Dante and crew on new adventures.
2019’s Devil May Cry 5 proved that Capcom still had a firm grasp on what made the spectacle fighter series great and, although it will be a tough act to follow, returning to it – either through a new entry or a Resident Evil-style remake – would be fantastic.
We’ll have to wait and see how Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney ultimately fit into Capcom’s short and long-term strategy.
