Control is what happens when the developers of some of the most accomplished narratively-focused third-person shooters become entranced with the idea of weirdness. Taking cues from the likes of New Weird and the infamous SCP Foundation, Control is going to be quite an experience indeed.
Control release date has not yet been explicitly given, though a vague 'Summer' launch has been hinted at. Here's all the info we've got so far.
Information on a general release window for Remedy's Control was announced via Game Informer, who Remedy will be cooperating with in an effort to get more information about the game out in the open pre-launch.
According to them, Control is set and primed to launch this Summer, and will see the protagonist face an otherworldly threat while fielding supernatural abilities of her very own. Sources specifically mention levitation, telekinesis, and mind-seize, though astral planes and the like get namedropped as well.
Even though Quantum Break wasn't quite the killer release that Remedy had hoped it would be, it seems like they've learned from their mistakes with Control. Hopefully, the game ends up being as impressive as it looks to be from the promotions.
