Publisher Sega has confirmed it plans to release four new games “based on mainstay IPs” by the end of its current fiscal year, which concludes on March 31, 2027.
Although it didn’t explicitly name the titles in question, the publisher did provide a list of games whose release dates have yet to be officially locked down but which could count among the four titles it plans to release by the end of April 2027.
Sega Plans to Release Four New Major Titles Before April 2027
First on its list, we find Stranger Than Heaven, the next project from Yakuza developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, which was recently revealed during a dedicated showcase.
Confirmed to launch at some point this winter, it is technically part of a new IP, since it doesn’t bear the Like A Dragon name, so it’s unclear if it is counted as one of the four major games to release by April 2027. It is, however, a highlight of the year for fans of the studio’s previous work.
Persona 4 Revival is more likely to be one of the four new major titles, although it doesn’t have a confirmed release date at the moment. Revealed in 2025, recent unconfirmed rumors point towards a late 2026 or early 2027 release for the remake of Atlus’ acclaimed JRPG.
Grand strategy game Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is another potential candidate. Although it was only announced at the end of 2025, a 2027 launch would line up with the fortieth anniversary of Games Workshop’s grimdark universe.
Creative Assembly is also working on Total War: Medieval 3 and a sequel to Alien: Isolation, but those games may be a bit further away.
Other titles mentioned in Sega’s financial report for fiscal year 2026 include a new Virtua Fighter project, as well as entries in its Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio, and Streets of Rage series, none of which were given release dates.
As much as this leaves room for a lot of speculation, it’s certainly clear that the publisher plans on offering a consistent schedule of releases over the next few years, aiming for at least four major titles each year.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long before we learn which ones we’ll get to play first.
