Electronic Arts and District 9 director Neil Blomkamp have joined forces to create Conviction, a live-action short movie based on upcoming looter-shooter Anthem, the publisher announced today via press release.
Conviction will act as a prequel to Anthem, being set decades before the action of the upcoming video game.
“I was really blown away by this incredible world BioWare created the very first time I saw Anthem,” said Neill Blomkamp.
“Conviction sets the stage with a narrative that touches on Anthem’s beautiful and immersive world, which is ripe for exploration by these powerful Javelins. A world where danger is lurking on every ledge and in each valley.”, he continued.
Conviction will go live this Thursday, February 14, on the Oats Studios YouTube channel. Fort Tarsis, Anthem’s in-game player hub, makes an appearance, as do Javelin-wearing Freelancers going against The Monitor, villain and leader of the Dominion faction.
