If you’re struggling on Saiadha and need help expanding your massive empire, the best Endless Legend 2 cheats, console commands, and beginner tips are exactly what you’re looking for.
Amplitude Studios’ latest 4X strategy game is off to a great start in Steam Early Access and is feeling both rewarding for veterans and accessible, yet some newcomers might struggle at first with the studio’s brand of dense city management and army growth. In this article, we’re trying to cover your best options if you’re looking to cheat your way through your early games until you figure out how everything clicks together… or the easiest way to navigate those first few hours playing by the rules.
Endless Legend 2 cheats and console commands
Endless Legend 2 doesn’t fully support in-game cheats, but there’s one way to access them, and that’s through external cheating tools which we’ll briefly discuss below.
Before that, we also want to let you know that, while some users have suggested some in-game console commands, we haven’t been able to replicate the process and believe they’re looking at Endless Legend 1 console commands instead. The community around the sequel is in its early days still, so these confused comments are to be expected.
In any case, some users have already looked into Cheat Engine-based cheat tables, and the early results are promising. Check out the best one that we’ve found so far here. Its key features as of v3 (Oct. 5, 2025) are the following:
- Unlimited movement
- City viewing/editing with complete freedom
- Unlimited attacks
- Instant research
- Values for Dust, Influence, and other resources
As always, we recommend being careful with what you edit or alter with these tools and never doing it on “serious” games you’ve already started. Achievement behavior might also be unpredictable.
Endless Legend 2 tips for beginners
Our Endless Legend 2 beginner tips aren’t meant to be a tutorial, as the game itself does a pretty good job of teaching everyone the ropes of Endless Legend and the sequel’s big additions and changes. Instead, we have a handful of tips and pointers to help you make the most of your first couple of games.
Don’t make long-term plans
Endless Legend 2 most unique feature are Tidefalls and the other weather events that besiege Saiadha. By comparison, the catastrophes and world-altering events in the last two Civilization games are small bumps in the road. As a direct result, you must be open to altering your expansionist (or defensive) plans quickly, as the world will literally change under your feet.
This isn’t strictly negative, as Tidefalls (the ocean retreating and revealing new areas) will also open up all sorts of both narrative and resource-centric opportunities. This means that you should always be ready to quickly pivot to take advantage of Saiadha’s evolution, which, yes, is bad news for people who like turtling behind the walls of their biggest cities.
Take things easy and go with big maps at first
Endless Legend 2’s customization options for each game aren’t super extensive at this stage of its early access run. That said, some choices while generating a new Saiadha map are key to having a harder or easier time. Of course, the more you bump the AI difficulty at first, the harder it’ll be to come out on top, but there’s another setting that directly affects pacing.
You want to use the Large or Huge world size for your first few games. When combined with the lower difficulty levels, it can give you plenty of breathing room to better plan out your empire and bolster your armies before walking into massive conflicts or annoying diplomatic crises. By being a bit farther away from everyone else, you can better focus on your own internal struggles.
The battle system is deceitfully simple
Very often, you’ll be tempted to (correctly) auto-resolve battles as your empire becomes gigantic, several war fronts go on for longer than anyone would like, and units level up into far more complex groups. You won’t be able to escape the turn-based combat system forever though.
The thing with Endless Legend 2’s reworked combat system is that it’s deceitfully simple. Controls are the regular tactical turn-based ones; the interface doesn’t explicitly reveal many intricacies; and there’s a rock-paper-scissors dynamic which affects most unit types. That said, terrain bonuses change drastically the effect of your attacks and defenses, and how and when you use your heroes’ unique abilities can quickly determine who wins or losses. Soon, you’ll realize it’s not a numbers game or chess with extra steps. And please, try to focus on single targets over spreading yourself too thin on the battlefield.
Don’t ignore district and population planning
As pointed out in my early access impressions piece, Endless Legend 2 continues to struggle a bit with the UI and clarity of entire chunks of relevant information, especially when you’re trying to make sense of your empire and cities’ strengths and weaknesses.
While figuring out resource production and consumption is easy enough, city districts and population are an entirely different story. Bonuses show up in the map view, inside menus and submenus, and in each district or population segment. It’s not pretty.
When it comes to districts, try to offset penalties by building districts in patterns that allow each one to be surrounded by different ones (or the city center); this will turn negatives into bonuses in most cases. As for citizens, you’ll need to make sure the right types are assigned to different jobs while also keeping things as varied as possible by assimilating minor factions to gain more bonuses.
Hero specialization is the way to go
Endless Legend 2 adds a lot of depth to how you can build each hero you recruit. They also can be made governors of cities to provide extra bonuses or mighty army generals that gain XP very quickly after each victory. No matter what you choose to do with your latest recruit, try to pick a lane and stick to it.
The upgrade tree for each hero might look vast and enticing, and after farming weak enemy groups for tons of XP, you may be tempted to go hybrid with your build, but Endless Legend 2, at least in its current state, actually punishes not making the most of a hero archetype. This is made more obvious by the huge amount of them you can amass, but let this be a reminder. Don’t shuffle their roles around if you’re looking to optimize their performance.
