When its Rossbach update 1.1 releases, Europa Universalis 5 is finally getting its much-requested army and navy templates alongside a set of other quality of life changes that developer Paradox Tinto has now given us a glimpse at.
The most recent Tinto Talks post dedicated to EU5’s 1.1 update focuses on a variety of UI improvements that aim to make navigating the grand strategy game’s button-heavy interface a bit more manageable.
Europa Universalis 5’s Rossbach Update 1.1 Adds Quality of Life Changes
One recurring complaint regarding Europa Universalis V’s UI was tied to the sheer amount of alerts that would appear at the top of the screen fairly early on in a playthrough. They always came back after being dismissed, which is why the Rossbach update 1.1 will allow us to permanently mute them.
Not only that, but we’ll “also have a quick way to access all hidden alerts where [we] can mute/unmute them, and even unhide any [we] wish to get back asap,” the developer explains.
Army and navy templates allow us to save custom compositions using any mixture of available units and queue them up for recruitment with a simple click.
EUV’s update 1.1 also makes both the single and multi-unit screens of its unit UI, which could be rather intrusive, collapsible, reducing the amount of clutter.
When called into wars, we’ll receive a pop-up, so we don’t accidentally miss participating in conflicts that determine the shape and fate of continents. Furthermore, the end of war screen will more closely resemble Europa Universalis IV’s, detailing total losses, including how many civilians perished.
The list of additions also includes levy rally points, which prompt raised levies to automatically march to their set locations, reducing some of the micromanagement involved when heading into war.
In addition, the following map modes are also on the way:
- Economical Base
- Potential Tax Base
- Market Food Balance
- Market Food Stockpile
- Mapmodes for percentage for Nobles, Laborers, Burghers and Peasants
- Threat
- Coalition
- Rivers
- Improved Road Builder
The developer diary doesn’t provide any new information about when we can expect Europa Universalis V’s 1.1 update and its quality of life changes to release, but it was previously scheduled to drop in early February.
