Update: The Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event is returning to Fallout 76 next week. Starting with October 15 at 12 PM ET/5 PM BST players will once again be able to get awesome loot from Treasure Hunter Mole Miners.
Lasting until October 19 at 12 PM ET/5 PM BST, this second round of Fallout 76's Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event also brings a series of changes. For starters, Treasure Hunter Mole Miners will now spawn all across Appalachia and have their level adjusted up to 50.
This first change leads to them dropping legendary loot that's better suited for your character's level. The event's rewards are now part of a separate pool and feature new, exclusive items.
Ornate Mole Miner Pails have a higher chance to drop, while lower quality Pails will more often yield rewards exclusive to the Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event.
Lastly, the vendor price of components used for player-crafted Mole Miner Pails has also been reduced.
Original: Fallout 76's Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event goes live today, giving players more chances at obtaining cool loot while exploring Appalachia. But how long does it last and how does it work?
Here's what we know about Fallout 76's Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event, including details on when it begins and ends but also how it works.
Fallout 76 Hunt for the Treasure Hunter Event
Fallout 76's first Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event will begin on May 21, and end on May 27 at 12 PM ET/4 PM GMT. For its duration, legendary Treasure Hunter Mole Miners will spawn throughout the Ash Heap region.
They make a distinct sound – helpful for tracking them down – and can drop rewards spread across three tiers:
- Dusty Mole Miner Pails (low)
- Mole Miner Pails (medium)
- Ornate Mole Miner Pails (high)
Higher quality Pails have an increased chance at offering rare loot which includes various outfits, Mounted Head Plans, a new Backpack Plan alongside the Marine Armor Helmet Plan. Pails cannot be sold to vendors but can be traded to other players.
Fallout 76's Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event also lets you craft your own Pails. You can buy Empty Mole Miner Pails from vendors using Caps, then combine them with other materials to craft Pails belonging to one of the three tiers listed above.
Reddit user gilpo1 has datamined the full list of event rewards alongside the odds of getting them using pails and put them in a handy spreadsheet.
Bethesda has also confirmed that Fallout 76's future Hunt for the Treasure Hunter events will take place in other regions of Appalachia.
