Far Cry: New Dawn may not be a fully-fledged 'Far Cry 6' as many were hoping it'd be, but this means that Ubisoft are more willing to try out some new stuff and see whether it sticks.
Far Cry New Dawn RPG mechanics are seemingly proving that Ubisoft will be doing with the series something along the lines of what they've done with Assassin's Creed, which is to say: adding weapon rarities, health bars and other assorted RPG features.
Far Cry: New Dawn Weapon Rarity and Health Bar Details
According to recent gameplay videos, Ubisoft will be introducing various classical RPG features to their upcoming Far Cry instalment, and this includes but is not limited to rarity-bound weapon drops and loot, and enemy health bars, which is also likely to signify a more standardised leveling system as well.
Whether Far Cry New Dawn grey, blue, purple, and orange weapons are a hit or miss remains to be seen, but it looks like these are simple DPS upgrades, generally speaking, according to damage numbers that pop up when you're shooting at an enemy.
RPG-lite mechanics worked for Assassin's Creed, but will they work for Far Cry? Guess we're about to find out! In the meantime, check out what we know so far about the game's weaponry, exclusive Far Cry 5 items, multiplayer, and system requirements, so that you're all prepped-up for the game's February 15th release date.
