Galactic Civilizations 4 - Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC Release
Galactic Civilizations IV’s Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC leads with the Terran Alliance 2329 faction, an alternate take on the human faction already present in the base game.
Led by DL Bradley, this newer version of the Terran Alliance is a bit slower and gains access to fewer free ships through tech advances, but has plenty else going for it.
Its technology tree is leaner and easier to navigate, having only three branches. Although each technology is more expensive to research, its unlocks are also more powerful.
Gaining access to the Discovery Module allows the faction to build unlimited flagships, enabling the Terran Alliance to “dominate the anomaly game.”
Galactic Civilizations IV’s - Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC also introduces new narrative events that explore the faction’s “origins, politics, and ambitions of humanity’s interstellar expansion.”
New planetary improvements, weapons, and defenses, as well as a variety of fresh ship components with which we can deck out our fleets, are also on the way.
Tales of the Terran Alliance’s second faction is the Xendar Brood, a race of sentient space spiders who are quite upset after the humans bombed their homeworld and attempted to completely annihilate them.
Their quest for vengeance is fueled by rapid early game expansion, while militarily, they rely on large numbers to overwhelm opponents.
Galactic Civilizations IV’s Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC is accompanied by the free update 3.1, which is available for all owners of the base game.
The patch introduces Strategic Resource Generation, “which allows resources to cluster during map generation for more strategic specializations,” while improving the AI’s ability to manage resources, starbase upgrades, and research selections.
The update also brings “enhanced customizable modding capabilities, featuring better hot loading, tech tree branch modifications, and new planet improvement icons.”
The Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC is available now on PC for the price of $14.99 or your regional equivalent.
It is also included as part of the 4X strategy game’s Expansion Pass 2, which bundles together five pieces of DLC set to release through 2027.
