The Warlock class in Hearthstone has, like its peers, multiple cards that play into its own flavor. The Floating Watcher card, is just one that benefits from the high-risk, high-reward playstyle of the class.
Here’s what you can expect in terms of statistics and decks from the Floating Watcher card in Hearthstone.
Hearthstone Floating Watcher Card Statistics and Decks
The Floating Watcher card was introduced with the Goblins vs Gnomes expansions, and now bolsters the roster of demons available to Hearthstone’s Warlock class.
In terms of stats, it costs 5 mana to play and is a 4 attack/4 health minion. The Floating Watcher’s effect is a potent one, under the right circumstainces, the creature receiving a +2/+2 buff whenever your hero takes damage.
The Floating Watcher is a common card that only yields 5 Dust when disenchanted and requires 40 Dust to craft. If you’re aiming for the golden version, those values multiply by 10, meaning it yields 50 Dust when disenchanted and requires 400 Dust to craft.
As its effect suggests, the Floating Watcher plays into decks that tap well into the Warlock’s high-risk high-reward approach, benefitting from both the class ability, Life Tap, and cards like the Mad Bomber which deal their damage in several individual ticks.
That being said, the card requires specific conditions to fully unleash its power, a little unruly RNG being enough to turn it into a burden. This is probably why it’s not all that popular at the moment, however, that’s no reason not to experiment with it.
Hearthstone is now out on PC and mobile.
