Path of Exile 2’s 0.4.0 update has now received December reveal and release dates, as publisher and developer Grinding Gear Games prepares to introduce a new class alongside another set of changes to its popular hack and slash RPG.
Its title, The Last of the Druids, gives away the next class we’ll be able to play as when PoE2’s update 0.4.0 goes live. After a few missteps following its launch, developer Grinding Gear Games has committed to releasing a new major update every four months, hoping to bring the sequel out of early access in 2026.
Path of Exile 2 0.4.0 The Last of the Druids Reveal and Release Dates
PoE2’s The Last of the Druids reveal date has been locked down to December 4, 2025. At 11 AM PT/7 PM GMT, the team behind the game will host a live stream on its Twitch channel, during which it will detail all the features and changes coming in the 0.4.0 content update.
The full patch notes are expected to release after the livestream, which will be accompanied by a fresh set of Twitch Drops, ends.
Path of Exile 2’s The Last of the Druids 0.4.0 update will then release a week later, on December 12 at 11 AM PT/7 PM GMT.
- Path of Exile 2’s The Last of the Druids 0.4.0 update reveal date: December 4, 2025
- Path of Exile 2’s The Last of the Druids 0.4.0 update release date: December 12, 2025
On that very day, a free weekend event will kick off, giving everyone access to the sequel until December 15. Although PoE2 will be free-to-play when it fully launches, access is currently gated behind purchasing a supporter pack, so the free weekend is a prime opportunity to try the game out and see if it clicks with you.
Details about the content coming in Path of Exile 0.4.0’s update remain scarce at the moment, but we now know that the Druid class is finally making its way into the game.
Furthermore, endgame changes are also expected, as the developer has previously mentioned its desire to address complaints with that part of the experience.
