As with all of its counterparts, Path of Exile's Affliction league gives us an opportunity to start new characters and experiment with different builds as we tackle challenges both new and old. Developer Grinding Gear Games has been slowly sharing details about the expansion in the lead-up to its confirmed December launch, which we'll round up below.
Path of Exile Affliction Expansion Release Date
Path of Exile's Affliction expansion has narrowed down its release date to the first half of December 2023 on both PC and console. Its PC and Mac versions become available starting on December 8, 2023 at 11 AM PT/7 PM GMT.
The league is then set to release on Xbox and Playstation a few days later, on December 13, 2023, as confirmed in the description of the name reveal trailer embedded below.
- Path of Exile Affliction expansion PC/Mac release date: December 8, 2023 at 11 AM PT/7 PM GMT
- Path of Exile Affliction expansion Xbox/PC release date: December 13, 2023
The expansion and its mechanics will be officially revealed during a livestream scheduled to be broadcast on November 30, 2023 at 12:30 PM PT/8:30 PM GMT.
In the lead-up to the above-mentioned livestream, which is bound to go in-depth on Path of Exile's Affliction league mechanics, we learned a few details about its theme and upcoming changes.
The trailer embedded below remains cryptic, showing a figure standing in front of a gruesome totem before dissolving into a swarm of insects. A very different kind of Santa Claus, to be sure.
The developer has also teased a new divination card alongside a welcome quality of life improvement that allows us to split currency stacks while trading.
It should only be a few days before we learn more about Path of Exile's Affliction expansion and league. With all the mounting anticipation, it's good to know that its release date isn't too far off, especially with Path of Exile 2 also steadily approaching.
