As the end of 2025 nears, indie game launches are ramping up, and horror releases like Dark Atlas: Infernum aim to keep things scary even if we’ve left the ‘spooky season’ behind.
The first-person survival horror game from Spanish studio Night Council doesn’t seem to pull any punches with its “esoteric” take on the end of the world. Previous trailers already painted a quite unique picture, and its launch trailer is keeping things the right kind of strange:
“Every moment in Dark Atlas: Infernum is designed to disturb,” the latest press releases teases. At the same time, it appears Night Council has added “unique visual and auditory accessibility features” to ensure as many players as possible can enjoy this nightmare ride… as long as they can stomach the horror. These are the key promised features:
- Psychological Survival Horror: Navigate collapsing dimensions and unravel Natalia’s fractured identity in a narrative-driven horror experience.
- Immersive First-Person Gameplay: Engage with disturbing environments and uncover secrets using caution, not confrontation.
- Stealth and Strategy: Avoid enemies through the clever use of darkness and environmental awareness. Stay hidden, stay alive.
- Atmospheric Worldbuilding: Explore interconnected indoor and outdoor areas crafted to fuel tension and discovery.
- Art and Audio Excellence: A visual and sonic experience crafted to blur the line between reality and nightmare.
Dark Atlas: Infernum is now available digitally on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The PC price tag is $14.99, with a limited-time launch discount which takes it down to $13.49. If you’re on PS5, a physical release is also available “at select retailers.”
