A new RTS riff on Command & Conquer isn’t the only strategy release hitting next week. On September 26, the off-beat city builder Stario: Haven Tower is finally welcoming visitors.
Developer Stargate Games (no, this studio has nothing to do with the famous movie and TV shows) has finally revealed the long-awaited launch date for its gorgeous town sim with a fun fantasy twist. What if an entire tower-like city was up in the sky? What challenges would it face? How could it grow? Suspension of disbelief is required to enjoy this one, but it sure looks like the most unique city builder we’ve come across in ages.

What about the lore behind all this? The team behind the game is keeping things vague and mysterious, but here’s what they’ve shared on that front:
“The sandstorm apocalypse looms. In search of the prophecy’s final hope, survivors band together to climb toward the clouds. Abandon the boundless wasteland, break gravity’s chains. Upward, until the tower cleaves the heavens and reaches the rebirth of its honor.”
The ‘Towertizens’ are apparently following a prophecy after a disaster has ravaged their world, but rough weather conditions and the demands of a growing population unshackled from earth are bound to cause trouble too as they continue to go up.
The early access build that will arrive on September 26 isn’t a thin one, in case you were wondering. Per the press release, here are the main features available from the get-go:

- 4 Natural Disasters to challenge tower stability and resource management
