The Elder Scrolls Online’s Midyear Mayhem Event 2021 is making another return, which means that PVP enthusiasts will soon have more reasons to take up arms against each other and fight for their Alliance.
Bethesda has announced that ESO’s Midyear Mayhem Event 2021 start date is set for tomorrow, January 28 at 10 AM EST/3 PM GMT. It will stick around for a bit under two weeks, having its end date slated for Tuesday, February at 10 AM EST/3 PM GMT.
The Elder Scrolls Online’s Midyear Mayhem Event 2021 occurrs bi-annually, another instance likely kicking off towards the end of June. The process of joining the fight hasn’t changed much from last year but, nonetheless, here’s a reminder of how it works:
- Visit the in-game Crown Store to acquire the “Details on the Midyear Mayhem" quest
- Travel to your Alliance War faction's main gate in Cyrodiil using the Alliance War menu or a Battlegrounds camp outside major cities
- You are no longer required to travel to Cyrodiil to kick off the event
- Find the NPC named “Predicant Maera" and continue the quest
- If you already completed the quest last year, you won't need to do it again
- Complete the quest to receive your Scroll of Pelinal's Ferocity and a Pelinal's Midyear Boon Box
- Use the scroll to enjoy a two-hour, 100% buff in the Alliance War, Imperial City, and Battlegrounds to:
- Alliance Points gained
- XP gains for PvP player kills
The Scroll of Pelinal’s Ferocity remains usable throught the entirety of the event. Should you lose it, you can obtain another from Predicant Maera or opt to use the Basin of the Gore Virtuous.
During ESO’s Midyear Mayhem Event 2021, the bosses in the Imperial City and its sewers can drop tradeable Outfit Style pages for the Ebonsteel Armor and Second Legion outfits. Completing the below achievements will earn you the now-traditional Midyear Victor’s Laurel Wreath collectible item:
- Mayhem Connoisseur: Receive the blessing of the Whitestrake at one of the Alliance Gates during the Midyear Mayhem.
- Echo of Pelinal's Fury: Read a Scroll of Pelinal's Ferocity during the Midyear Mayhem.
- Hand of the Whitestrake: Acquire your 25th Pelinal's Midyear Boon Box.
- Wrath of the Whitestrake: Defeat 50 opponents during the Midyear Mayhem.
- Pelinavant the Scourge: Win a Battleground match during the Midyear Mayhem.
- Pelinaline the Bloody: Capture a Keep in Cyrodiil during the Midyear Mayhem.
- Pelinerrif Insurgent: Capture an Imperial District during the Midyear Mayhem.
If you don’t yet own The Elder Scrolls Online’s Imperial City DLC, you can pick it up for free from the in-game Crown Store.
The Midyear Mayhem Event 2021 also gives you the chance to earn three event tickets per day. Completing any Cyrodiil or Battlegrounds daily quest grants two, while the third is given as a reward for seeing through any Imperial City district daily quests.
They’re worth pursuing if you’re looking to obtain the fragments required to summon 2021’s new Unstable Morpholith pet from the Impresario. Later in the year, you’ll also get the chance to upgrade the pet “into different items.”
For the full list of Impresario and Pelinal’s Midyear Boon Box items, head on over to the event’s announcement post on the official website.
While ESO is preparing for a thematic return to Oblivion in its new Blackwood Chapter, Zenimax Online announced last year the opening of a satellite studio that’s working on a new AAA IP.
