A game world as ruthless as The Surge 2’s will sooner or later have players wondering about a fast travel option that can shorten the path between important locations.
While fast travel isn’t present in The Surge 2 in a traditional fashion, there are ways to make life slightly easier when setting off to cover long distances. Here’s everything we know about fast travel in The Surge 2.
The Surge 2 Fast Travel
It’d be tempting to expect Medbays to facilitate fast travel in The Surge 2, much like their Bonfire counterparts in Dark Souls. That, however, is not the case. For a good portion of the game you’re going to have to walk between areas while making sure enemies don’t batter you too much.
While fast travel isn’t there in a traditional sense, The Surge 2 does give you some ways in which to make traversing longer distances easier. That being said, they won’t be available right away.
As you explore its map, you’ll eventually run into shortcuts that make getting from one area to another slightly quicker. The closest thing to fast travel in The Surge 2 only becomes available late in the game when you unlock the Lifter Hook.
What the Lifter Hook does is essentially allow you to fast travel between non-combat zones in The Surge 2, but only after you’ve uncovered special spots for it.
