After a reveal this summer and an enticing in-game trailer in September, KING Art and Deep Silver have shared a big new story trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, and it’s packing one big surprise that will make Space Marine fanatics scream.
First, we’ll remind you famous Black Library author John French has co-written the multi-campaign story for the fourth installment in the long-running WH40K RTS series.
We already knew the Blood Ravens would be in trouble as soon as the game kicked off, with both Captain Cyrus of the Space Marines and Chief Librarian Jonah Orion facing Orks as soon as they reach Kronus’ orbit.
Down on the planet, entire Ork legions wait, and the investigation conducted by the Adeptus Mechanicus begins a new Necron invasion. Moreover, a bigger mysterious threat awaits under the surface. Needless to say, it’s looking bad for the Imperium forces, and the new trailer, which you can watch below, paints a grim picture:
The biggest reveal comes right at the end of the new preview, when the Dark Angels chapter of the Space Marines arrives, led by playable commanders Company Master Astoran and Chaplain Ezrael.
We’ve been told the Dark Angels will be their own separate faction “in all game modes,” with the massive Space Marine campaign giving each chapter time to shine too. Moreover, fans can expect Lion El’Jonson himself, a Space Marine Primarch, to “descend onto the battlefield” for the finale.
The new trailer arrives as PC Gamer selects Dawn of War IV as one of its most wanted 2026 releases. You can watch the full PC Gaming Show Most Wanted 2025 stream here.
