Avowed’s February 2025 launch brought the highly anticipated RPG to both PC and Xbox Series X/S, leaving those of us who primarily game on Sony’s latest console (or its Pro counterpart) wondering when it will release on PlayStation 5.
What once would have been a ridiculous question is now legitimate, given that Microsoft has begun slowly releasing some of its first-party titles on Sony’s platform. Two of Obsidian Entertainment’s smaller games, Grounded and Pentiment, have been released on PS5. Will Avowed follow?
Avowed PS5 Release
After almost a whole year of awaiting, Avowed now has an official PS5 release date. Obsidian has confirmed that its fantasy RPG will make its way to Sony’s console on February 17, 2026.

It will be accompanied by the title’s rather sizeable Anniversary update, which introduces features like New Game+, photo mode, additional Godlike feature presets, and more.
Much like Sony’s approach with the PlayStation games coming to PC, Xbox games don’t always make it to PS5 on day one. Nevertheless, having the option to play them on Sony’s console is something we wouldn’t dared to dream of a few years back.
Avowed’s initial reception might have involved a fair bit of criticism, but the RPG proved succesful enough to warrant a PS5 release date.
That covers what we know about when Avowed might be coming to PlayStation 5.
