Star Wars: Zero Company offers 12 Specializations (classes) to choose from. Eight are standard, with the remaining four branded as Exotic; these are either character-specific or unlocked during the game.
Most Operators can pick one of the standard Specializations, with three Abilities (Passive, Standard, and Ultimate) unique to each class. EA has confirmed that some Operators can change Specializations through a Personnel/Focus Tree system, and that Focus Points can be spent to upgrade Talents, Abilities and Passives.
Bit Reactor's Lead Designer, James Brawley, has also said that "each character has their talent specialization. For some characters it’s fixed and cannot be changed; for the custom operators that you generate on your own, there is a pool of different talents that you can select from."
"When you get midway through the game, you’ll be permitted to select a secondary Specialization for each character, so you can create a two-point permutation that creates a lot of possibilities for how you can build your characters and combine those abilities to pursue specific builds."
