Ken Levine's Irrational Games won't be leading the warped alternate reality of the BioShock universe any more, but Take-Two aren't letting the franchise sink to depths unknown. 2K Marin will be taking responsibility.

PC fans of BioShock 2 are set to receive free Minerva's Den DLC on Steam if you already own it. The reason behind this is 2K has stripped out the Games for Windows Live client ahead of its July shutdown.
Anyone who owns a digital or retail key for BioShock 2 can now activate it via Steam, with full achievement and controller support, as well as all multiplayer DLC too.
2K Marin's creative director Jordan Thomas is leaving the world of AAA publisher titles to start a 2 man indie studio. Thomas had worked on BioShock 2 and the upcoming The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.
Universal had director Gore Verbinski attached to produce an adaptation of BioShock for the cinema going public. It may have been an R-rated $200m blockbuster that blew our minds, but then Watchmen happened.
Universal "got cold feet" about such a budget for a film and so wanted it around $80 million. Verbinski wanted his original vision, and so directorship changed and Ken Levine "killed it."
Future Shop has placed an unannounced bundle called the BioShock Ultimate Rapture Edition for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The bundle will include BioShock and BioShock 2 with all of the DLC released for the game.
