List compiled of Games for Windows Live titles stripping client, others uncertain

While Microsoft's Games for Windows Live client is in its death rows there are many futures left uncertain, like all those GFWL infested games still out there. What becomes of them once the beast is slain?

A list has been compiled by Joystiq on what's happening with various titles by publishers and studios. The future is bright for some, not so blinding for others.

Benzies: Rockstar has about "45 years worth of ideas" for Grand Theft Auto

Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies has said they've got almost half a century's worth of ideas left for more Grand Theft Auto, and yes, Rockstar have "got some ideas" for GTA VI rattling around.

Right now though it's all hands on deck for GTA Online, "plus we have some other things" like DLC and 'stuff' - "I don't know how to describe it exactly". It's called 'Bully 2' hopefully.

Games for Windows Live service terminating July 2014, will affect GFWL titles

Microsoft's announcement of ending their Games for Windows Live Marketplace was welcomed almost with glee by the PC community, but now the many GFWL enabled titles are threatened.

As of July 2014, Microsoft will be ending the Games for Windows Live service. That means all GFWL titles (GTA IV, Batman) will lose features and possibly save data.

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV continue to inspire wacky mods. This time, Batman drives a piano, summons a horde of Superman bodyguards wielding assault rifles, who he either blows up with a bazooka or have fire at each other.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim named 'Generation's Greatest Game' in Amazon poll

The polling consumers of retailer Amazon have spoken, or rather voted. Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim managed to beat Naughty Dog's The Last of Us in a tournament for 'Generation's Greatest Game'.

Other major contenders were Grand Theft Auto IV, BioShock, Super Mario Galaxy, Portal 2, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham City, Far Cry 3, Red Dead Redemption and more.
