It looks like Harebrained Schemes is planning to return to Kickstarter for another round of crowd-funding next year. Hard to argue with that decision, considering they made over $1.8 million the last time.
In fact fans of the excellent cyberpunk RPG Shadowrun Returns will be excited to see that, judging by a teaser image released yesterday, we’ll be hitting the streets in our finest leather trenchcoats and sunglasses once more.
Along with the January 2015 date, you can see the Shadowrun logo there. Given the success of the original RPG and its various special editions and expansions, it’s not hugely surprising to see Harebrained planning a sequel. It is pretty exciting, though.
Shadowrun Returns was a great game, and expansion Dragonfall was even better. It’ll be interesting to see what the developers can cook up with a game engine ready to go, and all that experience gained from their last Kickstarter project. A little bit more polish and we could ave something really special on our hands, chummers.
It’s going to be a busty 2015 for Harebrained, who are also working on action roguelike NECROPOLIS.
