Due to “issues with the scenes desyncing”, Bioware has locked Dragon Age: Inquisition’s cutscenes to 30FPS. Which feels odd when you’re hitting 60+ in the rest of the game. There is, however, a workaround.
Bioware’s Mark Darrah says the development team is working on an official option, but for the moment you can follow the sterling advice of Reddit user CommandBen.
Essentially it’s as simple as adding the command line ”-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+” to either your desktop shortcut or your Origin game properties window. I’ve tried it myself, and it does work, but be warned; disable it for character creation, because for some reason after the opening cutscene you’ll find yourself stuck in a weird limbo area if the command line is enabled.
Adding it after you’ve exited the opening scene seems to work just fine, though as with any homebrew fixes there may be issues down the line. Hopefully we’ll hear more from Bioware regarding an official fix soon.
