Initialization Core Y-83 is the name of the new 20-player raid that’s coming to Carbine Studios’ WildStar. Tom ‘Hildogen’ Cassera has spilled the beans on the new raid, which comes with its own prologue.
It doesn’t have an ‘attunement process’, but instead favours an optional quest that can be completed solo. It’s a ”bite-sized raid” with a single major boss and can be completed in less than 30 minutes.
”…our previous raids (Genetic Archives and Datascape) are massive in scale and require multiple hours to complete. For Initialization Core Y-83 we wanted a bite-sized raid experience that could potentially be completed in less than 30 minutes,” explained the game designer.
We can also choose the difficulty on the raid by interacting with an optional object that buffs the raid boss with greater health and damage, otherwise it will be at its base difficulty. ”When completing the encounter on the base difficulty you can expect to see some new décor items, gear and rune sets. Like the difficulty, the new gear is meant to help close the gap between Genetic Archives and Datascape,” continued Cassera.
”This encounter design was originally planned for the Genetic Archives, but we just couldn’t manage to squeeze it in. The new version of the encounter gives us the perfect opportunity to experiment with a few new things and now we’ve decided it’s finally ready for your systematic destruction. The only thing left you for you all to get in there and show the Prime Evolutionary Operants who’s boss!”
