CD Projekt’s sprawling fantasy epic The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt went gold last week, and now the developer has confirmed the official date when everyone across the globe will be able to get their grubby mits on the game.
The Witcher 3 goes live simultaneously across all regions at 1:00AM CET on May 19, on PC and next-gen consoles. That date has been confirmed to Gamespot by CD Projekt, though gamers in North America will find themselves playing a full 24 hours earlier simply because of the weird and wonderful way global time-keeping works. The lucky sods.
“We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring you this game,” said Adam Badowski, Head of Studio, CD Projekt RED in last week’s post. “From the corrupt nobles in Novigrad to ancient monsters lurking in deep forests, to the bustling cities, colorful ports and breathtaking vistas; all the people, all the places – we literally spent tens of thousands of hours to turn all that into an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come back for more.”
If The Witcher 3 can fill that mind-bogglingly huge world map with some fun quests and (personal opinion alert from someone who hasn’t read the books) a slightly less baffling storyline than the last entry, we could be in for a real treat.
