If you’re curious as to exactly what’s going on with Ubisoft’s oft-delayed Tom Clancy’s The Division, you can sign up now for a chance to take part in the closed beta.
It’s set to drop on Xbox One first this December (those thrice-cursed exclusivity deals), but then it will make it to the PC in early 2016. Signing up doesn’t guarantee access – only pre-ordering the game will do that – but Ubisoft will notify you via email if you are one of the chosen few.
In case you’ve forgotten, and I’d forgive you because the game’s been out of the spotlight for a while, The Division is a shooter/MMO hybrid set in a ruined, largely abandoned New York that’s been devastated by a deadly virus. Watch the video above for an idea of how the game’s multiplayer works, if you can get past that hideous fake team chat that Ubi seems to love these days.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is set for a full and final release next March 8. Let’s hope the game actually makes that one.
