Heart-wrenching news my fellow videogamers, Take-Two have almost certainly condemned this Christmas to be a much less cheery one now - it’s fiscal 2010’s fault.
Publisher CEO Ben Feder revealed their hot sizzling titles won’t see a release window in fiscal ‘09, claiming it was ”essential to invest” additional time, especially on BioShock 2.
”The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2. We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve,” said Feder to investors.
”As a result, we will now be launching sequels to several of our strongest franchises - including BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption - during the next fiscal year.”
At this point people likely screamed in anguish and starting throwing chairs at the stage…
”These titles will anchor our lineup for fiscal 2010, and along with other products planned for next year, provide a platform for enhanced financial performance in what we hope will be an improved retail environment,” he continued.
There is a glimmer of hope though as Take-Two’s fiscal year ends in October, meaning fiscal 2010 begins in November - so we could having something pleasant shoved in our stocking after all?
