TaleWorlds Entertainment will be unveiling for the first time the new Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Unfortunately its live gameplay sessions will be private at Gamescom. The press will get to salivate at the current state of the sequel, which is set two centuries before Mount & Blade Warband but takes the series forward "by greatly expanding gameplay" in all areas.

The bleak world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has just gotten a tad brighter as GOG.com is resurrecting ye olde Gamespy codes for the apocalyptic shooter, which also seem to be activating on Steam as well. This is part of a wider initiative to dust off old game serial keys and get them revived digitally by GOG, who hope to expand what they can turn into a DRM-free copy. You get all the goodies and updates.

TaleWorlds Entertainment has announced a December 11 release date for Mount and Blade: Warband's Viking Conquest DLC, which was externally developed by the team behind the popular 'Brytenwalda' mod. To go along with the announcement, they've also released a live action trailer for the new expansion, featuring burly men hacking each other to bits with axes.

As of today the Mount & Blade franchise is squarely back in its developer's hands, TaleWorlds, as Paradox Interactive give back the reins of the IP after five and a half years. Paradox "feel honoured" to have been part of the journey and as a parting gift to fans, they'll be giving Early Access to Magicka: Wizard Wars in their library.
