"It's up to the developer to determine when they are ready to 'release'," the FAQ reads. "Some developers have a concrete deadline in mind, while others will get a better sense as the development of the game progresses."
City builder Towns was one of the first games to go through the Steam Greenlight process, and one of the first examples of how early access programmes don't always work out - since launching in 2012 has been plagued with issues, most of which have remained unfixed. Now, two years since release and with the game still not in a completed state, developer Florian Frankenberger has announced on the that he is leaving the project.
The first ten indie games to be greenlit by Valve's Steam Greenlight independent game initiative have been revealed. The list is headed by the long awaited Black Mesa, and also includes Heroes & Generals and Routine.
