Dead Space 2 is "going to be a monster," and says the franchise is a "thinking man's game" as well as having "great action". It's out 2011.
"It’s got some really innovative online gameplay,” Riccitello told IndustryGamers.
"I’m personally a nut about Dead Space. Rare is it for me to finish a game on more than one platform, but I did in the case of Dead Space, and Dead Space 2 is more than a worthy sequel; it’s going to be a monster. So I’m really, really pleased with that."
Dead Space was created by EA's Visceral Games, with its leading figures having left to form their own studio at Activision. The EA team hasn't lost confidence though by the sounds of it, if anything they seem bolder by Riccitello's words...
"What Dead Space does is it’s a thinking man’s game in addition to being a great action adventure title. So, we get the action in the game, lot of shooting, really different weapons…I love the puzzles. I love that to conquer this game you have to use your brain.”
Unsurprisingly Dead Space 2 is going to be one of EA's biggest E3 showcases next week, and hopefully we'll get to see some of this 'innovative' multiplayer action. Dead Space 2 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next year.
