Is there anything that annoying social spam fest can’t do? Studio boss Christofer Sundberg re-twittered certain lamentations of one Cory Barlog.
Who the heck is this Barlog guy you scream? Well that would be Cory Barlog of God of War II fame, and he’s leading the Mad Max videogame project as his first solo flight as big boss.
”The delay of the film (Mad Max) was ‘announced’ yesterday,” Barlog twittered. ”I wish that meant I got more time, but, alas… no.” Avalanche founder Sundberg retwittered Barlog’s twittering in July of this year, providing yet more juicy circumstantial evidence.
Of course the biggest wink toward such a Mad Max project existing at the Swedish studio? ”We have also secured a major Hollywood license which we develop in co-operation with a major media group,” read an overview at the Sweden’s Invest ICT in May.
”This project is co-funded by our licensing partner and we are currently evaluating different options for this project. The project will be developed alongside an upcoming 2012 movie.” Ta-dah. Just Cause 2 antics are more than in line with Mad Max craziness.
”I can’t talk much about our next project but it’s definitively within the action genre,” Sundberg said in a June interview. ”But we have made a move towards the more controlled experience to better convey a strong storyline.”
”We’ll never leave our big game worlds and spectacular explosive action, though. After working on original IPs for seven years we wanted to try a license, but there’s only been a few that we’ve felt was 100-percent right for the studio.”
”This one is perfect,” he added. It’s practically stamped on his face isn’t it?
