In an interview on Facebook, an unnamed developer from CD Projekt RED hinted around that a console version of The Witcher 2 may be in the future.
According to the dev, the current PC exclusivity of The Witcher 2 is not due to any financial nor technical reasons. The reason is that the studio didn't want to develop the game multiplatform, dividing resources unnecessarily. “We’re a studio that can’t focus on many projects at the same time.”
With the development time almost over for the PC version, the developer added, "We’ll do our best to release console version later.”
The original game did have a release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in November 2009 as The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf to mixed reviews.
