The main thrust of the game is that it is completely customizable and destructible. Gamers can create their own vehicles and weaponry either before playing or while playing (though doing so leaves the player vulnerable to attack.) Since the game is very resource friendly, some players have created entire cities with actual buildings (each of which have their own floorplans).
There are eight outlandish game modes for up to 16 players (online/LAN), including a “Lava Survival” mode where magma slowly rises as players build upward to avoid the instant orange death, “Spleef”, where players try to knock out blocks under their opponents so they fall to their death, and “Siege Mode” where players armed with trebuchats try to permeate their opponent’s castles.
The beta is still going on at the official site here. The game will cost $14.99 from the usual digital distributors including GamersGate.
