Grand Theft Auto V fends off Pokemon attack to maintain monthly US sales lead

The NPD Group released its report for October sales, and revealed that Grand Theft Auto V maintained its hold on the top spot, fending off Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, though if one were to count X and Y as the same game, Pokemon sold the most in the month.

Hardware sales were low, primarily due to the upcoming next-gen launch coming, while the Xbox 360 led in sales with 166K units sold, after its 32 month streak had been broken by the PlayStation 3 in September.
