Rockstar recommends "not installing the play disc" for GTA V on Xbox 360

As some have received their copies early for Grand Theft Auto V (the scoundrels!), Rockstar Games is issuing a warning to Xbox 360 gamers not to bother installing the designated ‘play disc’ to the HDD.

Already a mandatory 8GB install is needed with the Xbox 360 version coming in two discs to PS3’s single Blu-ray. Installing the ‘play disc’ can affect ”optimal performance”.

No efficiency is gained by install both discs as Rockstar isolated what needed to be available via hard disk already. It’s back to the ole spinning discs days of yore.

”For optimal performance, we recommend not installing that disc,” tweeted Rockstar Support. ”An 8GB install is required. For optimal performance, we recommend not installing the play disc.” Grand Theft Auto V officially releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 tomorrow, September 17th. Stay tuned for our review shortly.
