Gibeau stated in the call that the teaser shown at E3 2013 was enough to generate a fan frenzy, noting, ”We showed 22 seconds of where we’re going with it and the fan response was very positive.” He went on to reassure, ”The DICE team is well into development on that product already, so we feel very bullish about our shooter rotation over the next several years.”
One gameplay mechanic was hinted at as well, as Gibeau revealed that Star Wars: Battlefront ”has a third-person component to it.” This could mean players can switch between first and third person views, or that the vehicular parts of the game are in third person - or both.
Star Wars: Battlefront will use the Frostbite 3.0 engine and is expected to be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
