Last week Dragon Age: Inquisition producer Cameron Lee tweeted that the upcoming fantasy RPG would contain ”40 major endings,”depending on choices made by the play throughout the game.
@DeepestOregon 40 major endings with additional variations

Now Dragon Age’s executive producer Mark Darrah has popped up to clarify that those 40 endings won’t actually be entirely different from each other, but rather major variations on a few unique endings.
Ending clarification:
Most endings are major variations based upon your choices in the game. There are only a few completely unique endings

Talking about endings like this is always tricky, as what constitutes a “major ending” differs from person to person. Given what happened after Mass Effect 3, however, it’s not surprising that Bioware are at pains to assure gamers that the resolution they get will be different depending on their choices. Different as in actually different, not just a different colour.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is coming out on PC and consoles this October 7.
