The first of five DLC packs for Alien: Isolation will drop next week, adding three maps to the game’s Survivor mode that all take place before the arrival of Ripley and co.
Title Corporate Lockdown, the expansion also adds a new playable character, a unique set of objectives and a new game mode in which players have to complete all three maps at once without dying. Yikes.
Here’s the official blurb:
“In ‘Corporate Lockdown’, Seegson Executive Ransome has learnt that he has been abandoned by his paymasters. Knowing that the Torrens is on the way, he decides to make his escape and hitch a ride on board, taking decoded Nostromo data with him. However, while escaping he wants to tie up a few loose ends…”
The three new maps are; Severance, Scorched Earth and Loose Ends. In Gauntlet mode you’ll have to make your way through them each without dying in order to earn enough points to top a global leaderboard. I don’t think my heart could take that level of stress, but I’m sure there’s some masochists out there who’ll love it. Each level has hidden secrets and bonus objectives to find, which should reveal some interesting secrets about the Sevastopol station.
Corporate Lockdown will be available to download on October 28, priced at $7.99/€6.99/£5.59. Four other content packs will follow: ‘Trauma’, ‘Safe Haven’, ‘Lost Contact’ and ‘The Trigger’. Each will feature a new playable character and new maps and modes.
You can currently pick up the Alien: Isolation Season Pass at a 25% discount. All DLC packs will be released by March 2015.
