A new story trailer for Assassin's Creed: Unity introduces Elise, a young noblewoman whose path intertwines with hero Arno's during the chaos of the French Revolution.
See? There are women in Unity after all. I mean, you are rescuing her from getting her head chopped off, but it still definitely counts.
Sure, it's a CGI trailer, but it's nicely choreographed one. Given the look the two share at the end I think we can possibly assume that Elise, who Ubisoft describe as "an independent young noblewoman", is Arno's love interest. She's also a Templar, which should make things nice and complicated.
Alongside the new trailer, Ubisoft has announced a tie-in novel written by Oliver Bowden, who's written several previous Assassin's Creed novelizations. "Told from Elise’s perspective," say Ubisoft, "the book follows her and Arno as they are drawn into the centuries-old battle between the Assassins and the Templars – a world with dangers more deadly than they could ever have imagined - and fight to avenge all they have lost."
Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released for PC and consoles on October 28. The novelization will come out in November.
