Overkill’s shooter adaptation of The Walking Dead will be coming to E32015, according to a press release (PDF available here) from Starbreeze Studios, as part of the developer/publisher’s “significant presence” at the show.
Overkill announced last year that it would be teaming up with Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Interactive to create a “PayDay-esque” co-op shooter set in the world of the popular zombie franchise.
We don’t know a huge amount about the game yet, other than it will be a ”co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth.” It’s set for a 2016 release, and presumably we’ll see the first footage of it in action when E3 rolls around on June 16.
It’s a busy time for Starbreeze, who recently kicked off a move into publishing by securing a deal with Croatian studio Lion Game Lion to distribute co-op shooter Raid: World War II.
