The new game mode for Star Wars: Battlefront that DICE was teasing yesterday is a 10 versus 10 team deathmatch mode called' Blast', it turns out. Not particularity exciting, I know.
It's Rebels against the Imperials on a series of custom-built maps designed for close-quarters fighting. Thus, levels are smaller than in other modes, and contain a few other tweaks as well.
“As in other Star Wars Battlefront game modes, the key to success is choosing a hand with a weapon layout that suits you and the battle conditions,” says the developer. “Also, you'll find weapon pickups strewn across the map, and since there are no vehicles or Heroes & Villains joining the fight, the strategic value of these pickups is quite high.”
Blast mode lasts for ten minutes, or until one team reaches 100 tickets. It's a nice option for those who fancy a more personal match than large-scale, cinematic modes like Walker Assault offer, but I'm not sure it required a special reveal. I mean it's just team deathmatch, isn't it?
Star Wars: Battlefront is out on November 17, for PC and consoles.
