Fans of Planet Coaster were hyped up by the idea of an expansion potentially landing in time for the game's first anniversary - RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 style. But even in today's age of DLC add-ons, that isn't happening. There is another free Anniversary update, however.
Announced at Frontier Expo earlier this month, the update -- presumably arriving sometime in November -- takes a form similar to that of the game's usual seasonal updates. Whether this is classified as the Winter update or not isn't clear.
So what will it bring? On top of the expected new rides, the Anniversary update will attmept to overhaul staff management by introducing the Staff Room. Staff training will take place here rather than instantly attained on the job at the click of a button. It's also a place for staff members to take a break and recover the energy meter now present; so you'll either close up shop during their downtime or simply rotate staff members as needed.

Planet Coaster Patch Notes - Update 1.3.9
In terms of rides themselves, one of the coziest comes in the form of the Weisshorn flat ride which simply spins peeps in a circle - but under the cover of a tunnel-like canopy. Then there's the 'Hop the Gaps' coaster that, when paired with a new track system, should have riders feel a disconnect between the cart and track during light drops. Thank you, gravity!
Then there's 'Cascade'; a far more entertaining water ride than a simple River Rapids or Log Flume. This one is your traditional metal coaster designed to make a big splash. There's plenty of 45 and 90-degree rails, too, so expect a lot of swaying before taking the plunge.
There's bound to be heaps more as usual, but Frontier Expo apparently wasn't the place to drop all the info. You can watch the live reveal in the video down below.
