With the long-awaited Doomfist making his PTR appearance this month, Overwatch players are stuck wondering when he'll be pushed from testing and into the main game. It's tomorrow. But is he bringing something more?
As ever, dedicated diggers have unearthed minor details of the next Overwatch patch. Pulling two sound files from the game, the internet sleuths are betting on the tone of the tracks relating to Doomfist's arrival.
The first, a 32 second clip, apparently relates to the 30 second countdown timer music played as a match is about to end. The heavier tone of such a track over past iterations seem to suggest its tailored to a new event - which many believing it to be fitting of Doomfist's darker presence.
The second, a 22 second clip, is a little more questionable. Reddit users are currently speculating it to be the sound you'd hear on the splash screen as a new map loads in. Again, the heavier notes suggest something a little less lighthearted than most Overwatch skirmishes, leading most to believe its once relating to the upcoming villain.
With rumors still circulating that last year's Summer Games event will make a reappearance, the timing seems only right. And with our new character's quirk being, clearly, a massive fist, the newest idea is that we're getting a volleyball event. Brilliant!
