Epic will be bringing down Fortnite Battle Royale at 4am EST in order to deploy the latest 4.0 update, that will inevitably close competitive season 3 and fire-off season 4. Approximately every three months there is a new competitive season refresh that brings new cosmetic items, emotes, game modes, and a bunch more.
Epic has yet to announce when Fortnite Battle Royale will be live for players again, however we can expect a longer down-time than usual. With a new season of content flooding into the game, there is a lot to do.
Brace for Impact! Downtime has started for the Season 4 update.

There has been a lot of talk about what season 4 will bring, specifically where the meteor will land. Throughout the last few weeks of the competitive season, players have been reporting interesting anomalies throughout matches. First there were alarms, then emergency alert systems, and more leading up to small, yet deadly meteors landing around the map.
Speculation and rumors were leading players to believe that the infamous Tilted Tower city was the destination point of the massive meteor for several weeks. Thanks to a leak by Reddit user internetadam, the post detailed information and potential leaks for season 4. The post, since deleted, gave validity to the super hero theme rumor, certain map tweaks, and a “confirmation” that the meteor was headed towards Dusty Depot. Of course there has been no confirmation besides a few season 4 trailers, but we can always speculate.
