After recent news the 4X fantasy game Atre: Dominance Wars had been pushed to 2026, many expected developer Ironward not to say a lot in the coming months, yet the game has crushed its latest Kickstarter goal as the studio looks for more funding in hopes of delivering a bigger and stronger release.
The news dropped on November 20, confirming the game has just raised over $30,000 USD so far “to support development of the main story campaign, set to release in 2026 on Windows PC via Steam.” The team is now trying to hit a $60,000 stretch goal to work on more detailed combat. If you’re interested, you can support the project before the Kickstarter campaign ends in six days.
Following playtests earlier this year and a good amount of great-looking trailers, Atre: Dominance Wars has been gaining momentum in the 4X space, quickly becoming one of the most anticipated releases set to arrive in 2026. Its promised mix of real-time strategy and turn-based 4X systems alone is enticing, but the audiovisual execution is looking stellar as well.

If you’re also wondering about its universe and basic premise, which will fuel a proper story campaign as teased above on top of casual matches and PvP multiplayer, this is the latest description straight from the press release:
“Uncover the truth in a world being torn asunder by dark magic, as you choose unique magical attributes and become an Elder aiming to ascend to Godhood. Build a vast army of acolytes and develop thriving fantasy cities, exploring, expanding and conquering other cities across the map, amassing power and resources across four different worlds.
Grow your powerful dominion by producing armies led by immortal Avatars and made up of army units which can be transformed, mutated and improved according to the research path you follow and the artifacts you forge. You can also add to your army’s spellpower by using your own magic, obliterating enemies at the risk of being vulnerable to figures stronger than yourself.”
