Battlefield 6 is finally here, and if you’ve pre-ordered either the Standard or Phantom Edition, you have an extra XP boost for your early hours online waiting. Here’s how to find and use all the BF6 XP boosts.
At the time of writing, XP boosters are seemingly tied to the pre-order bonuses and the deluxe Phantom Edition, but chances are challenges, events, Twitch drops, and seasonal battle passes will drop more of them. Below you’ll find all the information on where to find them and how/when you should use this extra help.
Battlefield 6 XP boosts location
XP boosts can be used to improve Career and Hardware XP gains for a limited time, with a third type of boost hidden for now. If we had to guess, there’ll be Battle Pass boosts too once Season 1 begins.
Battlefield 6’s UI and menus can feel a bit cluttered, especially at first, and if your first instinct is to look for XP boosts inside the main menu or the player profile, you won’t find anything. Instead, you must enter the Multiplayer menu (right before choosing a mode and searching for matches) and click on the top right XP Boost rectangle with bright blue icons. See the screenshot above.
Do Battlefield 6 XP boosts count down in real time?
Yes, sadly, Battlefield 6’s XP boosts count down in real time, regardless of what you’re doing. They don’t stop when you’re not playing or even outside a match. This means you should only activate them when you’ve sorted out your loadouts and customization and then focus on playing as much as possible until they’re exhausted.
At the time of writing, there are 2XP Career and Hardware boosts that run for 15, 30, and 60 minutes. But that’s not everything: Owning BF6 (as opposed to playing it via EA Play) grants an extra 5% permanent boost. Moreover, joining a party adds another bonus on top. Finally, it appears that EA’s marketing deal with Sony also includes a platform-exclusive boost for PlayStation Plus users.
