After a bumpy launch and collecting the community’s heated feedback, developer Steel Balalaika and publisher Slitherine have set an ambitious roadmap for massive RTS wargame Broken Arrow.
It was only last month the troubled modern military RTS received a meaty Halloween update, and now the studio is making moves towards fixing several issues, working on urgent QoL changes, and expanding on the already impressive vision over 2026 and even into 2027. The full post is a substantial read, but you can also take a look at the current roadmap image and our straight-to-the-point rundown below:
- The remaining late 2025 patches aim to “lay the groundwork” for future updates while also adding the much-requested AI enemies and allies for the Skirmish mode.
- 2026 will bring three different specialization DLCs which aim to make the selection of units richer for both factions. On the free updates front, expect improvements to server and overall network infrastructure, a spectator mode, full replays, new MP map variants, the “loitering ammunition” mechanic, savegames, and a co-op campaign option.
- In early 2027, the studio plans to release a substantial DLC with a new campaign, new maps, and an all-new faction.
- Other planned QoL changes that will be rolled out over the coming months include: updated victory screen, battle chatter expansion, improved communication, better unit stats, offline skirmishes, and minimap improvements.
