A new week means a new set of Fallout 76 weekly challenges and this time, one of them looks to bring out both the explorer and photographer in players. The challenge in question involves taking three photographs at locations where Fallout 76 Survey Markers can be found.
Fallout 76’s Appalachia is quite an expansive world and even if the quest log gives you the names of five locations where Survey Markers can be found, looking for them can be a bit tricky. For clarity’s sake, in-game Survey Markers look like small circular protuberances usually found on stone surfaces. You also don’t need to point the camera at the marker itself, being able to take advantage of Fallout 76’s eye-catching post-apocalyptic scenery.
Where are the Fallout 76 Survey Marker Locations?
One Survey Marker can be found on the Cliffs overlooking the Bog. Travel to South Mountain Lookout, then go east and you’ll, surprisingly, reach a cliff that grants a clear view of the Bog. Look at your feet and the Survey Marker should be on the nearby stone portion of the cliff. You’ll know you’re in the right area if, having the South Mountain Lookout tower behind you, there’s a crater below.
The Spruce Knob is the large green structure to the north of South Mountain Lookout. In order to find the Survey Marker, you’ll want the Spruce Knob on your left hand side. Look for an overlook with a wooden fence and two red tourist scopes, one of which has fallen to the ground. The Survey Marker is on the stone just behind the scopes.
The Survey Marker at the Top of the World can be found on the structure’s right side. Walk north of both it and the Pleasant Valley Ski Resort while angling slightly to the left. With the Top of the World behind you, look for, again, an overlook with two red tourist scopes, one of which isn’t standing anymore. The Survey Marker is on a larger stone just behind the scopes. Three markers are enough to complete the weekly quest but, just in case, you’ll find directions for the other two below.
The Survey Marker in the Forest Region can be found north of the Kanawha Lookout Tower, which is located to the east of Vault 76 and not far from it. Face the tower stairs, then turn towards the south. Walk forward and some spikes should eventually get in your way. Get past them, walk a bit more and you should reach the Survey Marker.
Lastly, there’s the Survey Marker in the Mountains by the coal train depot. You’ll want to reach the coal train depot that’s waiting in between Sunnytop Station and Atlas Observatory. Once there, face south. There should be a cliff on your right hand side which is where you’ll find the marker.
